  • The New Shoes

Living in London for nearly 4 years now has had me staring touching and considering the Brogue/Oxford Loafer shoe, but not yet buying it. How would I wear it and not look like I’m trying too hard? How would I wear it and not look like I need to be put in a taxi back to East London? And then of course there are the flashbacks to my school days and the uniform that entailed brown brogues, which sound stylish.. now…

So on my weekly journey into Selfridges, I did some research… there is still so much sale stuff around, but so far, I found these, and they tie in quite nicely with the new monochrome look for summer!

I totally HEART Bottega… the slippers below are soooo cute..

Kurt Geigers ( on sale too)

    And of course CELINE….

  • Happy 2013!

Hello 2013, let’s make it a very stylish one with love and happiness for all…

Great, now that’s over with, for my NYE festivities I went to Amsterdam this year, a much cool-er event than last year in Bali, no matter which way you interpret that word.

Here is the view from my accommodation:

Such a beautiful city day and night.

The best shopping I found was in the infamous 9 Streets ( De 9 Straatjes in Dutch!).. one of my favourite shops was Pretty Rings which as suggested has an enormous range of beautiful and well priced jewellery:

These 9 Streets are filled with unique design shops and antiques… by far some of the best shopping I have seen in northern Europe.. The Dutch experience was just fantastic. The people are so helpful and friendly, the food was surprisingly good and of course, the airport visit is always the full stop on your holiday.. this is how the Netherlands said goodbye to me:

  • On my mood board for this season….

I always feel that despite the obvious trends that start on the runway and make it to Zara, Topshop et al, for me there is just one or two ideas that I’m really feeling.. I put together my favourite things for the season here:

     Here is the detail:

    texture….

     more texture…

     some opulence..

     and some luxury opulence…

The obvious mood here is embellishment and opulance.. and a hot man for good measure 🙂
Its so helpful to put together your key mood for the season, it prevents shopping errors, especially with the sale season coming soon… I’m definitely going to be adding more embellished items to my wardrobe soon..

  • Camp Royal Mail

Loving the British sense of humour here..

  • These are a few of my favourite things…

Am loving these shoes for the party season, or even just going to the supermarket, there is never a bad time to have a bit of glamour in your life no?

My perfect party outfit this winter, well until Christmas anyway, would be these, matched with this dress:

For a total rock look, or maybe with the skirt and top below, when I’m trying to be a bit more elegant, without trying

Fashion fairies send these my way!

(Shoes: Valentino Rock Stud, Dress: Zara, Skirt: Balenciaga, Top: Zara )

  • Festive!

In this season of berry / maroon / burgundy / wine coloured clothes, it’s easy to overlook red. Just red. Fire engine, valentino very red… or in this case Donna Karan red – I saw this outfit in Selfridges the other days and couldn’t take my eyes off it. …

  • A new baguette!

Fendi is not a show I usually watch, completely overlooking that Karl is co-designer.. it wasn’t til I checked out SS 13 shows that I noticed Fendi was of note for the coming season.
The bags, oh my the bags.  Just when The Baguette was in danger of becoming ‘the what?’ they have to go and make them covet worthy again, perfect timing since this winter all we see are the little bags a.k.a minaudiere ‘s on everyone who is anyone… this one was one of my favourite from Fendi:

Love the beading. Love the clean leather with beads. Love the clear logo. Love the lack of bling despite the embelishment.

In awe of what they thought of next:

Again, Love the clean leather, this time with texture, and the clear plastic logo buckle. Love that you can double duty this one with a day bag for day, and your night one on the side, literally! My eyes are starting to water and my heart is pounding.. must stop before I scare myself !

  • Eye Candy – A Neck Party

It is a season of embellished necks, I saw this at Cos yesterday, thought it was a gorgeous alternative while still staying on trend:
