  • Women’s Winter Boots part 1

The sun has been shining so long, the world of black tights and boots seem like a lifetime ago.. but sure enough fashion has other ideas and the new boots of the season have arrived.. the first 3 of my favourites are:

The Isabel Marant boot for this winter, she does an iconic one every year it seems, and this one looked so luxurious and snug with all the beautiful knits she did:

The the Saint Laurent.. not the one that went with the Nirvana era throwback season he did, the boots that go with all the sexy suiting:

and here is one of the multiple permutations of the unexpected but soon to be hit of the season, the ‘Over the Knee’ aka OTK.. by Miu Miu…

  • Are we there yet?

The new season is nearly upon us. Anyone on London knows that just this once, we don’t want it! We need more summer clothes cos it’s baaakking over here! I’m down to one pair of ‘posh’ sandals because i thought this would never happen.. but here it is, a proper summer.

Like it or not however, in fashion world the seasons are changing and slowly the trickle of autumn/winter ’14 is making it’s way into the shops. I was thinking recently about how some of my favourite things are old things. They don’t even have to be expensive or good quality.. but dressing out of season is way cooler, no? BUT here is some of my favourites from Zara’s new ‘inspired by’ season … question is.. should we wear it now,  or a year from now?

Love the jacket, in spite of the check being identical to the cheap plastic storage bags you can found in the pound shop

Great coat and cropped trousers, I like the grey mix thrown into a monochrome look.

Again, great great trousers. I wold wear them with heels or loafers though.

And something to wear now, love the shorts. would wear them with the shirt above though.

    Au revoir for now!

  • New York Fashion Week 2013

The first Fashion week of 2013 is upon us, starting in New York.

It’s forecast to snow, so my wardrobe from the ground up will consist of:

    Alexander Wang Boots:

    Temperley London Skirt:
    Costume National Shirt:
layered with  the Alexander Wang sweter…
    Classic, monochrome, cool and cosy!

    All can be found at:

  • Favourites

One of my favourite Internet finds right now is Vestiaire Collective it is by far and away the posh-est re-sale shop on the net anywhere

You are guaranteed authenticity as everything is checked by their staff before it reaches you, and no trawling through pages of made in china no name junk and H&M from five seasons ago – it’s all premium stuff. You can set up a search agent for something you really really want. Get on it.
Here is a little sample of my wish list:

The Valentino Rockstud Shoes obviously I am obsessed with them:

The YSL bag. I am ashamed to say I had a really good copy once. Now I’m holding out for the real thing:

And of course Chanel earrings, to be worn ironically of course.

    Shop like the wind!

  • RIP Platforms ..(happy dance starting NOW!)

After season after relentless season of the platform, which just seemed to get bigger and bigger, it seems to be official – they are OVER. All the devotees can now use these artefact’s as doorstops perhaps?
I have always been a fan of the no platform pointed toe stiletto. Occasionally a rounded toe too. Boring? Maybe. Classic. Definitely.

THANK YOU fashion gods for widening me shoe options by about a 1000%. I hated the platform. It made me too tall, it didn’t look elegant. In short (or freakishly tall), it looked ugly… sceptical? see below:

    Victoria Beckham – Before:

    And After:

Isn’t it so much better?!?!?!?!?!? Now I am coveting these:

  • The New Shoes

Living in London for nearly 4 years now has had me staring touching and considering the Brogue/Oxford Loafer shoe, but not yet buying it. How would I wear it and not look like I’m trying too hard? How would I wear it and not look like I need to be put in a taxi back to East London? And then of course there are the flashbacks to my school days and the uniform that entailed brown brogues, which sound stylish.. now…

So on my weekly journey into Selfridges, I did some research… there is still so much sale stuff around, but so far, I found these, and they tie in quite nicely with the new monochrome look for summer!

I totally HEART Bottega… the slippers below are soooo cute..

Kurt Geigers ( on sale too)

    And of course CELINE….

  • Happy 2013!

Hello 2013, let’s make it a very stylish one with love and happiness for all…

Great, now that’s over with, for my NYE festivities I went to Amsterdam this year, a much cool-er event than last year in Bali, no matter which way you interpret that word.

Here is the view from my accommodation:

Such a beautiful city day and night.

The best shopping I found was in the infamous 9 Streets ( De 9 Straatjes in Dutch!).. one of my favourite shops was Pretty Rings which as suggested has an enormous range of beautiful and well priced jewellery:

These 9 Streets are filled with unique design shops and antiques… by far some of the best shopping I have seen in northern Europe.. The Dutch experience was just fantastic. The people are so helpful and friendly, the food was surprisingly good and of course, the airport visit is always the full stop on your holiday.. this is how the Netherlands said goodbye to me:
